Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2016 Dodge Journey- Video
Today, on our 2016 Dodge Journey, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, part number PW1042, and that's tire size 225-65-R17. These Glacier cable snow tire chains feature a ladder pattern, so they're going to be very effective during accelerating and braking on the snow or ice. It features steel rollers on the cross cables, and they're going to provide us with a smoother ride than chains that have links. They're low profile - they're SAE class S chains, and they're designed for vehicles with limited wheel well clearance. They meet department of transportation requirements in all states, so they're going to be great cable chains to keep in your car for emergency use. They have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles per hour, and they come in a quantity of two. more

Glacier V-Bar Snow Tire Chains Review - 2003 Dodge Ram- Video
Today on our 2003 Dodge Ram pickup, we'll be installing the Glacier V-Bar Snow Tire Chain with Cam Tensioners, part number PWH2828SC. With the twist link cross chain design, these heavy-duty snow chains are outfitted with V-bar studs to bite into ice for superior traction on frozen roads. Now with our tire chain laid out, we'll go over a few of the features. Here on one end, we're going to have our hook end, simple hook on the inside, and a lever hook out outside that the open link will go through and will come back around and hook into the outer chain. Then as it comes here to the outside chain, we're going to make sure we have the smooth side against the sidewall and the hook side facing out so that we don't damage the tire. Additionally, the built-in cam tighteners make fitting and tightening the chains to your tire quick and easy. On the other end of our tire chain, we just have the simple open links for adjustment for different tire size and wheel combinations. We're now ready to go ahead and install our tire chain. I'll grab the inside chain and lay it up on over the tire. As we lay it over the tire, we want to keep the inside chain and outside chain even along the sidewall. Then we'll bring the bottom of the chain down and around the tire. Now we'll move to the inside of the tire, where we'll take the open links and put them through the simple hook. more

Titan Heavy Duty Alloy Snow Tire Chain Review - 2009 Dodge Ram- Video
Today on a 2009 Dodge Ram pickup 1500 series quad cab, we're going to install part number TC2228SHD. This is a titan chain heavy duty alloy snow tire chains with square links. All right, before we put on our snow chain, we'll go ahead and lay it out. A couple of things to look for is that we make sure these hooks on the very end of the crossbars are facing away from the tire. You want this part touching the tire. The tensioner and the latch need to be on the outside edge of the tire. Typically, we're going to start off with this going toward the front of the truck. For reference, we're working with a tire size today of P275 x 60R20. Let's go ahead and put it on our tire now. more

Now this vehicle is front wheel drive, so we will be installing the tire chains on the front set of tires. To begin our test fit, we'll lay the chains flat out on the ground to undo any kinks or tangles. This will ensure that the tire chains fit correctly around the tire. We'll then drape the tire chains over the tire, making sure that they are centered. We'll make sure that the hooks of the tire chain are facing out, so that we don't cause any damage to the outer wall of our tire. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2013 Dodge Dart- Video
Today on our 2013 Dodge Dart we'll be test fitting a set of the Glacier cable snow tire chains, part number PW1034. Before we get started, we'll lay the chain out flat and make sure there's no kinks, and determine our anchoring points. Up at the top of the chain are our keyhole anchor points. This is where we're going to slide our various stops in to secure the chains around the tire. There's also a pair of clips here, one on either side, that we'll use to secure the access to the cable end. There are hooks that connect the cross pieces of the chain to our cable all the way down. They're bent around the cable and we need to make sure that the sharp edge faces away from the tire and that the smooth edge here on the inside is what makes the contact with the tire. more

Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2013 Dodge Durango- Video
Today on our 2013 Dodge Durango with tire size 265/60/R18s well be test fitting the Thule tire chains, part number TH2004705265, Well begin our test fit by sliding the chains over our tire, making sure that the chains are centered with the tire tread. After we make sure that the chains are draped and centered on the tire well connect the side chained together here on the outside at the 12 oclock position. Well connect the red hook to the red chain link on the other side. Well then make sure that our chains are centered with the tire tread and allow them to move around the tire. Now here at the six oclock position well take the side chain andn our red tension holding device, slide the chain through the holding device and pull it tight. After weve pulled it tight well grab the red hook here at the chain tensioning device and bring it down and hook it into the side chain access that we just ran through the holding device. more

Thule XD16 Snow Tire Chains Review - 2013 Dodge Durango- Video
Today on our 2013 Dodge Durango we'll be test fitting the Thule standard snow tire chains for SUVs, part number TH04805265. Now we'll be mounting these to tire size 265/60/R18. To begin our test fit we'll lay the chains out on the floor and make sure we get any kinks or knots out of the chains themselves. We're now ready to mount them to the vehicle. We'll pass them behind the tire from the rear toward the front of the vehicle. We can then grab both ends of the blue cable and bring them up to the 12 o'clock position here on the inside of the tire where we'll connect the two ends together. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today were testing the fit of the Glacier snow chains, part number PW2016C. Were going to apply them on tire size 21565 16 on a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. Since this is a front-wheel drive vehicle we are applying the snow chains to the front wheels of the vehicle. For our demonstration, were going to apply the chain to the passenger side tire. As always, be sure to check your vehicles owners manual to insure that these snow change will in fact fit your vehicle. First we lay the chain our flat on the ground. more

Today on our 2009 Dodge Journey with tire size P225/65/R17. Well be installing glacier chains, square lengths, no chains part number PWPLC1142. To install these chains well need to make that we put them on correctly. On one side of the chain there is a simple hook. This is to be mounted on the inside of the tire. On the other side of the chain is a lever fastener to be mounted on the outside of the tire. more
